International Cricket Council (ICC) delegates are inspected to
“ICC World cup T20-2014” venues. They started to visit from Mirpur
Sher-e-Bangla cricket stadium first. They also visited Fatullah Khan Shaheb
Osman Ali Stadium, Shylhet Stadium, Chittagong Stadium, Cox’s Bazar under construction
stadium and satisfy.
ICC event manager Chris Tatly, who led the four member ICC
venue inspection team, speaking at a press briefing at M.A.Aziz stadium and
said, “Bangladesh will host the T20 world championship next year and we are
happy with the preparation.”
Unfortunately, BNP leader and Sadar Upazilla’s Vice-Chairman
Nasima Akhter and her group attacked the construction workers allegedly.
The attack was made at around 12 noon, an hour before the
ICC delegation reached the site for inspection Tuesday 20.08.2013. The construction
workers shade house was damaged during the attack.
To take control of the situation, Cox’s bazar sadar police
station’s sub-inspector Kamal reached the site but Nasima already left the
scene that time.
