After play-off win over Tunisia: Cameroon qualify for 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Cameroon qualify for 2014 world Cup.
Cameroon secured their passage to next summer's World Cup finals after beating
Tunisia 4-1 in their play-off second leg.
After the original tie ended 0-0,
the Indomitable Lions took a two goal lead in the first half, courtesy of goals
from Pierre Webo and Benjamin Moudanjo.
However, Tunisia fought back in the
second period and after an Ahmed Akaichi strike, they had a number of chances
to draw level on aggregate.
Their hopes were shattered late on
though as former Aston Villa midfielder Jean Makoun settled the tie and made
sure Cameroon reached their sixth tournament in seven attempts.
They qualified for the 2010
tournament in South Africa but ended the group stage pointless, after defeats
to Holland, Japan and Denmark.
And the African nation haven't
reached the knockout stages of the World Cup since making the last eight in
1990, with veteran striker Roger Milla stealing the show.
Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o is the
Cameroon captain and he will be desperate to emulate the great Milla in next
summer's finals, with the group stage draw set for December 6.
Volker Finke's side join Ivory Coast
and Nigeria in qualifying for the tournament, after their aggregate successes
over Senegal and Ethiopia respectively.
There are still two African places
at the tournament up for grabs with Ghana set to face Egypt on Tuesday, leading
6-1 from the first leg.
And minnow Burkina Faso go in to
their tie with Algeria, leading 3-2 as they look to reach their first ever
major tournament.

No Cricket without Sachin:: Madhuri Dixit
Indian famous actress Madhuri Dixit
was very much hearted about retirement of Sachin Tendulkar. She says it is hard to imagine the world of
cricket after a 24-years long career.
She hopes the legend passes on his
art to other aspirants.
Madhuri Dixit told reports about
Sachin on Friday 15-11-2013 at the launch of a jewellery store, “It is very
hard to imagine cricket without Sachin Tendulkar. I would just say all the best
to him. I would wish that he shares his this art with other people, teaches
them to play the game of cricket”

Siddikur soars at Hero Indian Open
Siddikur tightened his grip at the Hero Indian Open with a second
round six-under-par 66 on Friday to put himself in position to end a
title jinx at the Delhi Golf Club.
The Bangladeshi opened with an eagle and holed a 20-footer birdie
putt on the last for a 12-under-par 132 total, two shots ahead of
Chapchai Nirat of Thailand, who posted a 68 at the US$1.25 million Asian
Tour event.
Rahil Gangjee led the India charge on 69, three shots back from the
leader while Adam Groom of Australia was a further shot back in fourth
on 136 at the venerable Delhi Golf Club.
Multiple Asian Tour winners Angelo Que of the Philippines and S.S.P.
Chowrasia of India tied fifth alongside Das Shankar of India after
shooting 68, 68 and 70 respectively.
Siddikur, the first Bangladeshi to play and win on the Asian Tour in
2010, took advantage of his straight hitting game and a hot putter,
making 27 putts at the venerable Delhi Golf Club.
“I played aggressively again and I’m really enjoying this new style
of play. I didn’t do anything exceptional in my game but I’m just
enjoying the way I’m playing now. My game was excellent thanks largely
to my short game,” smiled Siddikur.

A great cricketer of Under 16 team of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Siddikur Rahman claimed nine wickets for 84 runs in the first innings of visiting Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) Under 16 team during the second three-day match at the outer ground of Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium, Cox’s Bazar. The left-arm spinner, a student of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP), sent down 41.1 overs in the innings 13 of which were maidens. Incidentally, Siddikur was involved in all ten dismissals in the MPCA innings as he had a hand in the run out of MPCA opener Rishabh Choubey.

ATP World Tour:: স্বদেশী ফেরার-এর বিপক্ষে নাদালের জয় ।
লন্ডনে এটিপি ওয়ার্ল্ড ট্যুর ফাইনালসে শুভ সূচনা করেছেন রাফায়েল নাদাল। স্বদেশের দাভিদ ফেরারকে তিনি উড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন ৬-৩, ৬-২ গেমে।
তিন দিন আগে প্যারিস মাস্টার্সের সেমিফাইনালে ফেরারের কাছে হেরে যান
নাদাল। মঙ্গলবার অবশ্য বছরের শেষ এটিপি টুর্নামেন্টে দুই স্প্যানিয়ার্ডের
মধ্যে কোনো প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতাই হয়নি।
